your right slip stinker;; my fault !  I worked at the cambell steam plant; about 30 miles or so from Holland; in Oct one year; and it only snowed once !!  that snow was from; Oct till mid December !!

thanks  Chris Spane;; and Steve C;;  I;m brand new to using spoons;; let alone making them;; but getting a lot of great info. on them ..  I had even tried opening the hook gap  wider using pliars;; started catching them better then;; but still not as effective as I thought it should have been.  oh well;; for a first time try;;  not to bad for a start !!

Nice idea with the light weight spoon.  I can see that slow sinking flutter attracting a lot of fish.  FYI, Gamakatsu makes a siwash hook down to a size 10.

slip stinker;; this was my first time ever using a spoon; how effective is it in deeper water?  you will have to ask somebody else on that one;; but I was fishing in 5 feet depth catching them !!

thanks guys !!  John;; yes sir; this was my very first attemp at making a spoon ; using what I had around here;; thought it was a kind of a novelty thing; till I tried it out !!  changed my mind fast ! and I had no idea a group about using spoons was on bbg till Dick Tabbert told me; so; I joined it !!  biggest thing I really wanted was a spoon; light enough; small enough; I could use with a fly rod; ( yea;; Im a fly rod junkie; LOL )  but can still use a U L rod to !!  this one; pretty much fits both !!  and slip stinker; thanks for the advise on the hooks;; I have a few hundred or more treble hooks I can check out; trim them down to a single hook

20151105- Need a Siwash hook for a swap of a treble...

there is nothing more irritating than a bluegill with a mouth full of treble hook. Forget about trying to find a Siwash hook at a bait store... nearly impossible to find and if you do it seems like they are all over sized.

Just trim the two hook shanks off the supplied treble and your in business. Not a new hack a lot of ice fisherman do this.
