WORKING THE SNAP... a nice snap hardware for the UL and fly rods

this little piece of hardware was a godsend ice fishing the past season. one of the toughest things to do do in the winter is tie a knot with cold hands with 1-0 to 2-0# test. with a good pair of hemostats utilizing these snaps makes swapping jigs flies etc on UL equipment a breeze.

I'm a huge fan of the snaps for dry flies . The smallest will manage size 18 just fine

i haven't tried them on the fly rod yet  ... but it sounds great. ice fishing was fantastic with these things

i  used to use a Polomar knot to tie braid on to these little snaps... very tough to do... due to the snaps small size and appendage.

try the Uni Knot instead ... very easy to tie!
