Bluegill - Big Bluegill

Do you love big bluegill?

This is my version of a micro fishing pole inspired by Joe Angelucci. It should be simple and effective. I got a piece of black bamboo at a local nursery, they had harvested some and this one was left lying about. It appeared to have died the year before because it was already pretty dry but not brittle. I trimmed the limbs then sanded down and burnished the joints. Luckily it had a joint right at 6 ft so I trimmed it right there and burnished the end. I straightened the last 3ft with a little heat. I cleaned it real it real good and then rubbed it down with linseed oil. All that's left is to tie on a line, a hook and a float.

I didn't realize how hard it is to photograph a cane pole. This a shot of the end.

Keith;

     Do you know that the Black Bamboo will eventually turn tan just like green or yellow bamboo will?

I have a small 9 ft tele pole that I love for in tight jobs.
That's a beauty and typical Ritter craftsmanship!
I figured it would because some of the color has already left the small end. I asked the owner about keeping the the color true, he said to cut it In the dry season and dry it in the dark and it would keep a lot of its color. So only time will tell if that works.

Great work, IM me your address  and I'll send you a micro fishing kit and baits. A pole that nice needs a proper set up

Atta boy, Joe!
That's the BBG spirit.

That's your pole Joe, We just gotta figure out how to get it to you. I can make one anytime. I would like one of those set ups.

Keith

Thank you. Happy to send the kit and baits. IM me your address what you need to cover the cost. I'm actually excited to think I will be using the pole in a week or two
