I spent about 45 minutes fishing on Birdsong Creek yesterday afternoon (Birdsong is about 15 minutes from downtown Camden). The Tennessee river system is swollen and quite muddy. I was there about 20 minutes when a couple of TWRA officers pulled up on me to see if I was catching anything ( I wasn't). They cautioned me to be super careful as they had seen a lot of log jams and partially submerged logs while patrolling. They were super nice guys who ended up giving me a map of the agency's deep water fish attractors. They also told me that the fishing had been slow due to the swollen water from all the recent snow and rain. I fished about 20 more minutes and called it quits. The air temp was 63 degrees and the water temp was around 43 degrees where I was fishing. Although I never got a single bite, it should start turning on within the next week or so if we continue to get this warm weather.

Thanks Joe for the Report.   LOFR

good report Joe;; and you got a map with some fish attractors from the twra!!  cool!!  just might come in handy!!

Thanks Carl. I've also been trying to pick up a Benton County map each time I go there. I should have several maps by the time the rendezvous is here.

Hey Joe go to the Chamber of Commerce to get local maps. Meant to call while you were down this way but I was to busy to fish anyway.

Yes sir to that Keith. The trouble is they only want to give me one at a time. I assume that is due to the cost. I'm also picking up one at a time from the public library. I should have at least a dozen by the time of the Rendezvous, as long as they don't get wise to me before then... lol.

LOFR, I'm gonna try to find a different area every week while I'm in Camden. I'll keep you posted as to what I find.

Also, am I right to assume that most of the Rendezvous attendees will be fishing from a boat or do I need to scout some bank fishing spots as well?

Joe , Thanks for all the effort , I assume most will be fishing from boats but if you can find some good bank fishing that can be an option.  LOFR

Hey Joe, I'll get my driver up there to round some up too. He may have a stash. I you are looking for a place to bank fish try the lakes in the Natchez Trace State Park down the interstate from Birdsong. Brown's Creek is my favorite.

49 day left to KLR 2015 , temp in the lake has jumped 1 whole degree, to a whopping 45 degrees, at this rate they will be biting like Pit Bulldogs at a Postman Convention by the time of the get together.  LOFR

Makes me a little teary eyed just imaging that LOFR. Btw, how many are confirmed so far?

At this point we have 10 confirmed and 6 maybees . We are going to have fun and fish , and food.  LOFR
