Bluegill - Big Bluegill

Do you love big bluegill?

Extended body top water, size 8.
Changed it up with a slightly longer, tapered tail and pheasant hackle for legs.
It has a bug-crustacean combo look, I think. Gonna try and get out and use it tomorrow.

Under overhanging shrubbery would be ideal.

Good deal.....I would have liked to throw it in the moving water I was fishing earlier today.......caught some big gills that were ambushing under large patches of blooming honeysuckle plants hanging over the bank.....

Tried the Giller today and had three fish hooked up. Several other fish swung and missed.
I'm calling it a success!

Jim,
This was patterned after a bug I saw at FTF. It's called the Gill-er. Here's a link:

He uses lots of rubber leg material and mono eyes. I changed that. I don't see the value in adding all his rubber in the tail, and I wanted something instead that used feather. The eyes too are more to catch anglers, so I omitted them. My next step for this one is to tie large feather wings, to emulate a kind of hopper look.

PS Tooty- I don't dream this up. It's modified from something else. I just changed a few things to get here.
