Bluegill - Big Bluegill

Do you love big bluegill?

I just thought it would be fun to catalogue some of the teasing names that we can use for non-bluegills. I'll even make it fair and come up with one for bluegill.

DISCLAIMER:

I LOVE ALL FISH...BUT SOMETIMES ITS FUN TO TEASE

Largemouth Bass

1. Green carp

2. Bluegill management device

Rainbow Trout

1. Snot rockets

2. Slimy critters

3. Pellet pigs

Bluegill

1. Bait

By the way...Don't anybody get offended. It's all in fun. If somebody gets upset with me I'll yank this discussion. ;-)

OK...Any more slams out there?

I would not worry about offending anyone. Not many people in Vermont target panfish unless they sell them to the fish buyers. Most of the bass and trout people do not mind throwing jabs at a worm fishing guy after sunnies and blues. I don't mind a bit all the more gills for me to catch.
YES, THATS THE ATTITUDE I LIKE...DOWN WITH SNOBBERY! JUST GOOD RIBBING!
Largemouth Bass
1. Wimps
If Bluegill grew as big as Bass, there would be no such thing as Bass Pro Shops or Bass Boats. Gill Boats would have outriggers to prevent being tipped over and ALL fishermen would ALWAYS wear a PFD when on the water. Every hip would sport a survival knife just in case a big gill did tip you over so you could cut the line he wrapped around your legs trying to drown you.
Bass on the other hand would be just like they are now.

2. Gill Bait Thiefs

Just in Fun Bass Lovers!
Stocked Trout -Cormorant and Muskie bait
Northern Pike are sometimes referred to "Hammer Handles", right?
I HAVE heard that!.... I might add expensive bait!
Those are hilarious! :-) We used to call carp "Southern Northern".
Carp----golden trout white bass----chrome smallmouth walleye---tube sock
channel cat----lawyer (both are scum sucking bottom feeders)
Walleye--Tube sock!?!? LOL!!!!
No, one of them is a fish.
jimvision-Stop giving channel cats a bad name!
Here are some of my favorite nicknames for various fish...

Chain pickerel over 22 inches..."big snakes"
Largemouths over 22 inches...'one of the "boys"
Yellow Perch over 13 inches, thru the ice...'thumpers'
Channel Cats over 8 lbs...'cattie whompus'
Smallmouths over 18 inches...'titans'
Small Northerns...'sticks'
Blue Cats over 40 inches...'chubbers'
Crappies over 12 inches...'delicious'
