Abney on February 27, 2013 at 4:59pm: Thanks Mike....many folks don't like to be near sea level as we are in coastal North Carolina.....I love the flooded cypress that adorn this region and these environments allow big bluegill and many other species of freshwater fish to thrive so I really love it.......much of my fishing experience is enjoying the great outdoors and I like to share these places with the members here........

Comment by Jeffrey D. Abney on February 27, 2013 at 3:40pm: The farthest north I have seen the spanish moss is in the Charleston, S.C. area....... I like it for all the insects like carpenter ants that drop in the water from overhanging moss......creates nice shade also.....

I wouldn't like it here in Carolina if I didn't have flooded cypress and brackish waters to fish......Notice the absence of Spanish moss though, all the swamps in Florida and Louisiana would be full of it as you well know Mike......
