Bluegill - Big Bluegill

Do you love big bluegill?

This was the best looking 11" Coppernose I had today....

A wonderful fish that took a pink/red tail Silent Stinger.....

You're right Jeff...everything you catch in these waters is darker......Coppernose just do great in these dark brackish waters......We'll be done here in a few weeks though because they are not active once the water gets below 55 degrees......So I'm squeezing in a few more trips before it's hard water time for our friends up North.....

Oh wow!  Looks like tea!  Seems to me I have fished somewhere at some time in my life where the water was like that, and all the bass we caught were really dark, just like your Bluegill.

You can tell by this picture of a release Jeff....very tanic with maybe a foot or less visibility....Dark, Dark.......

What is the water like?  What color.. very tannic?  What is the visibility?

I still love the blue tint on several that you have featured Jeff....all the big ones in my swamp waters are just black.....the ear tab even blends in on many of them....

Those are really dark fish.  No light edges on the fins either, like we get with our west coast coppernose.
