I had to get the slime off the leader before the deer hair fibers would straighten back out!

I ended up LOOSING that fly to a Long-nosed Gar.  Hit like a brick, bent the pole over, the fish came up top, thrashed around for a second, then popped my tippet!  Definitely gonna have to get an 8wt setup come tax time and target some bigger fish.

Knew you would do it.  Slime on the leader is a good thang!!  Keep flinging those flies.
