It's above Bernasconi.  You can see two palm trees up on shore.

Thanks Jeff. In the fish reports for LP I read "at the two palms"...is that over by Bernasconi Beach?

No Bob, have not seen any in shallow water.  I see fish jumping in 10 FOW or more.  That carp replica mount was done by a guy named Mike of Marine Creations in Florida.  Not sure if he is still doing fish mounts though.

Hi Jeff:

Ye, still hunting the carp, but they've been tough to catch this season at LP. I've seen them rolling in 10 - 15 feet of water at the east end, but I'm flyfishing for 'em,  and it's almost impossible to catch then blind fishing.

When the water level was lower a few years back they were easy to find (and see) feeding and mudding in the shallows, which was great for sight fishing, but with the water level up like it is  they have acres and acres of flooded vegetation in 5 feet of water to hide in.

I saw a nice carp mount in your photos. Was that a skin mount or replica? Can you tell me who did that one?

Have you seen any carp in the shallows at LP lately?

Gee that place looks so familiar... Nice going on the LP fish.  Still trying for that big carp?
