Bluegill - Big Bluegill

Do you love big bluegill?

I go to the spoon tipped with a shiner and I catch several cats near bottom in 25 FOW...Little Blue and Chrome combination.

Youre right about that Jeff. I have a ton of small spoons that I got off ebay, almost all modified the Musky Way. I would not have thought of it either, on my own.

You put it on TV and you post a detailed blog on spoon fishing on the web,  and some anglers can't follow direction and they catch little catfish on spoons....Go Figure!  Congrats to Bill "Musky" Modica on the TV segment, the reality is I wouldn't even have spoons in my box if it wasn't for the information sharing on Bigbluegill.com......

Cool little guy!Near bottom is the ticket most of the time for these guys. You are right David but I've only caught one Bullhead in my life on a spoon and one on a crankbait. Both trolling. Plenty on worms and hot dog chunks on bottom though!

Well.... everyone assumes catfish are scavenging garbage mouths. But they are actually voracious opportunists and adept predators. Hitting a prey fish mimic is no surprise.

You are the man, Jeff!
