Sharon, Just how many different variety of snakes do you keep at you snake farm ?
Comment by Andre Sturkey on June 21, 2011 at 2:25pm
This is for Mathew Biondi, Copperheads are members of the Viperidae (Pit Viper) family of snakes having folded-fangs classified in the group solenoglypha. Pit Vipers are thick bodied and characterized by a triangular shaped head that is quite wide in relation to their necks. All Pit Vipers have heat sensitive "pits" on each side of their face positioned between the nostril and eye which they use to locate prey.  Just fyi Copperheads are Vipers.

It has a white mouth inside, that makes him a cottonmouth (water moccasin)

The snake in the bucket is a water moccasin

After looking at photos of vipers and water moccasins, I think that is a Copper Head Viper?

Nasty looking thing, do you still have it?

Would be nice to see some of the colors and patterns on it, may help others on here watch for these.

Hard to tell what kind it is, can't tell when it's in the bucket. Pour it out so we can see the colors and patterns better. Might be able to identify it for you. But at first glance I would say rattlerheadedcoppermoccasin crossed with boaconstrictorconda
