Sigh... Leptomus Punctatus it is then. Still, it is a pretty little fish! And it has been a pleasure to chat with all of you. I've already bookmarked both fish data bases and THANKS! Good info in each. Now, I'm off to fish Moms pond in the john boat! This is its first voyage since the repairs... hope it stays afloat! [No fear, I used the GOOD duct tape!]

Well, I went back and got another one that wasn't quite as dark. I will have to say it is a spotted sunfish. Very unique patterns on them when they are getting ready to spawn. There goes my Wikipedia page, lol.

I'll go start working on the Wikipedia page... no promises, I'm sleepy, but this is like a mission from God. Pray for me...

Black backed Longbluegreenwarpumpkinredbreaststumpeargill, VARIATION, seven spined snorkelupigus [common name: shadow bass]... We'll need DNA to verify the species, but the good news is that the first one is a guaranteed IGFA record! I've been chatting with those guys, and they're very interested in the prime rib/chicken question... I encourage you to mail them the next one you catch! 300 Gulf Stream Way, Dania Beach , Florida 33004 U.S.A. Tell them Mike says "HEY!"

If I go about this in a scientific way a Spotted sunfish is the only nonhybrid sunfish thats makes the cut http://www.identicards.com/allaboutfreshwaterfish/species.asp?fish=...

I hope to see more! If it's a new species of bream and you get to name it, please, have FUN with that! Black backed snorkelupigus... That would deserve a Wikipedia page all of its own. And please, give us a report to settle the prime rib/chicken debate. Cheers!
