I figure they help keep down the small ones, just like the bass do. Haven't seen a bass in over a year. Still haven't caught many bluegill. Think the snakes, heron, and bass ate them all.

 Sharon, you need a .410 Snakecharmer , you want a bluegill pond not a snake farm.

There sure are a lot of snakes out this year. I even get them in the minnow trap. Once there were 2 in there.
