Bluegill - Big Bluegill

Do you love big bluegill?

2014 Diary for the "River Critters" on the Albemarle........Creations from Jim Gronaw

This is where I will follow the 2014 results of some great bugs from Jim Gronaw's collection.....This is the third year that I will fish Jim's baits and it will be a challenge for other baits to top these proven baits such as the Gronaw Grass Shrimp and the Green Darner to name a couple.......

You can always count on a Gronaw Grass Shrimp jig to find out what's really going on.......the coppers are waking up on the "Tank" and it's getting exciting!

With many of our waters still being stained a bit from the abundance of rain,,,,,,I wanted to try something in black so I chose one of the River Critters.......one of the ones pictured with a pair of black legs....tipped with a minnow worked really well for some of today's finer gills and a few solid Crappie.......

Jim has a creative mind and it's nice to have a variety of colors in a proven winner........

The pink Gronaw Grass Shrimp took big fish honors last Saturday with two 13" class Female Black Crappie which were released......They were full of eggs and fat like the 12" class fish below.......
