Thanks guys.....my partner and I were adrift as we were enjoying a beverage....I look down in the water behind the transom and spot a half dozen giant reds....wary of my spoon presentations, I told my partner that I was about to get medieval on those crackers by presenting half a crawler on an unweighted #6 hook....it worked!

Talk about your gentle releases! It was reverent.

I Iike your expression, Bill... I'm not sure if it's being camera shy or , "Yeah, I'm the man, yep I'm the man..." LOL

It looked like a free lined worm on a hook. Not the sophisticated set-up I would shave expected, but you know you gotta be versatile. Perhaps, you *are* the man....

And did I spy your nickname painted on the stern of your boat? Fun.

Thanks Bill

Yes Jim.....they're meat lovers....the bigger the chunk the better!

Very, very cool!

Do gill crackers tend to favor live bait options, similar to the red ear parent? I saw a worm in there, and that just shows me they may be more apt to take bait certain times of the year.
