If the pond is full of minnows, why would they bite the one on the hook? Are there no minnows in the middle of the pond? Is that where the bass stay? I know nothing about bass

That's why I got a trotline and I'm removing all the catfish from my pond. The bass don't ever bite, I must not have the right technic for bass. Would like to see one, and see how big it's grown.

sorry it took me over a year to get back to you. I have a 3/4 acre pond which the grandkids fish and through the fish back. My pond has Bluegills, Sunfish, Bass and catfish. There is also a few crappies a few perch and a couple walleye. Last year I put in 12 hybred strippers, i wanted to see what they would do. I buy 6 gallons of fathead minnows a year to feed the fish. I also have 8 white amers to control the vegatation and they do a great job. I have been trying to get some info on coppernose bluegills wondering if they would make it through our winters. Thanks for your interest.  Keep in touch.

THANKS FOR THE WELCOME TO BLUEGILL.COM  INEVER REALY FISHED MUCH FOR GILLS TILL I GOT THIS PLACE 20 YRS AGO AND WAS CATCHING 40 TO 60 GILLS A DAY ALL 10 IN AND BIGGER THEY ARE A GAS TO CATCH BUT WHEN FOKES WOULD COME OUT AND FISH THEY SAID THEY NEVER SEEN ANYTHING LIKE THIS THE BIG ONE WAS 3.2 AND 14 IN PUT IT BACK ALOT 2.7 2.5 2.0  JUST GOT GILLS AND BASS 4 AC. NEVER FEED OR STOCKED THIS LAKE GLAD TO SEE OTHERS LIKE GILLN LIKE ME !!HAVE A GOOD DAY
