Dick, Thanks for the welcome. I am looking forward to learning about Big Blugill. I love fishing for gills with flyrods. My largest, so far, was caught in a mill pond on the eastern shore of Maryland. It's a 12" Bluegill. In fact my picture is the fish.
Thanks for the welcome and accepting my friend request. Looking forward to using the site as a tool to keep improving, as well as to see some big fish pictures.

Thanks for accepting my friend request.Really love the site.You know while i like fishing for other species of fish,there isnt anything like fishing for gill.Really beautiful fish with all the diffrent colors they take throughout the seasons.
Hello Dick. I am also from Ohio, born and raised in Toledo but currently living in North Carolina. My father is still in Toledo and is a avid bluegill/crappie fisherman. He fishes in and around Lake Erie about 5 days a week all year round. We are currently planning a crappie trip to Kerr Lake in Virginia and also a trip to Santee Cooper this spring to chase those Shellcrackers!
Hello Dick, yalls site makes my mouth water. Love Gills and Crackers, are my favorite period.New to computer world, found site on my first smart phone 3 weeks ago.At library now drooling.Have some pics on old phone but still computer dummy. Use mostly live bait and versions of a jig tied in Huntsville that is deadly. I stumbled into the Jigging Rap (1 1/4 ") last spring for spotted bass after taking some Gills in on overpopulated small lake. Do you ever use these targeting fish in prespawn and if so with what results. Hope your arms get sore often, steve clark.
Hey Dick; Thank you for welcoming me to this site. I am picking my way around. Looks like a great site. I usually fish bluegill in the ice out months. I fish for pike & crappy during winter. I live @ Buckley Mi. It's between Traverse City & Cadillac.
I USE #10 dry fly hooks with an 1/8" hollow metal bead from Janns. Been using mustads for years and the old number is 94840 on the hoooks. I use strung marabou and then take out a feather and nnnnnnnnnnnnnnnever use the quill, it's too big of course for spinning em.
again sir thanks for the welcome to this net site. Im a lot like my favorite tv heros i guess you call it;; Red Skelton; and Abbout and Castillo. Love to laugh and make others laugh as well. hoping to make a ton of friends here, and learn as much as i can.I had to take to much time from fishing and other sports just now getting back into it. Wanting to know how to use the flies better than i do now, like mending the line drifting flies fly selection do I use a top water or sinking fly. So as you can see I have a lot of questions and needing help. Not to mention; any help on fly tying would be terrific!
A big thanks! You gave me the direction I needed to go on to start to obtain what I need. I;m sure I will have many more questions but now have a way of getting these answers.
Thanks for the welcoming. Just learn to navigate on the website. I retired and started to fly tie for bluegill and looking for patterns. So much is for trout and I want to concentrate on gills. Any help would be appreciated. Ron

Hi Dick;
In the mid 70S I worked on an oil rig in that area. We stayed at Tomahawk State
Forest Camp ground. I caught enough bluegills for a couple meals. My wife & I used to look for elk there, Great area.
Bob.
