I'm glad I'm from Minn"E" sota (land of 10,000 swamps and 2 pound mosquitos)....and I gotta admit....some pretty decent bluegill fishing here.....not "thee" best mind you....but pretty good!...lol!.....Being 4th on the list is better than Alaska....but then again nothing wrong with Alaska's Salmon fishing.....sure got Minnesota beat!....Lol!

I went to advanced search, typed AL and got 3 pages, including Mayo. You did it Bruce.

The reply I got from Ning about the sort by state is it is almost impossible this far into the game. But I think they did say if old timers did fill in their state it could eventually be done. Bruce probably doesn't have time to enter everybody's state for them because he spends so much time making sure Nebraska stays near the top of the BBG.com polls. But he is the only one who might could possibly message all members to enter their own state. Then if they don't, throw 'em back.

OK, I tried. Can anybody tell if it made a difference? I just required that new members list their state. This is also why I asked for people to list their home state on the discussion "Your home state".

Im with you on this boogie man! I asked bruce several months ago about something like alot of other social networks have and i think thats when we started using groups. I would love to search big bluegill members directory by location. Kinda like myspace or facebook where you can just go to memebers section and click on a search tab and in one of the options pops up you can enter a zip and a distance, a state or a region. I think that would be awsume because there are alot of members on here that we may find are fishing within easy traveling distance. It also gives folks a chance to if say I was going out of state on a vacation I could find people that live close to that area and find out places to fish and get help with directions tactics places to stay and even where to pick up tackle and bait directly instead of just making a post and hope somebody sees it. Its cool now because alot of us that are on here a ton see those post and we pass them on for other people that havnt been on as long and dont really know as many folks on the site as say Jim or Bruce or boogieman or myself. The other thing is people are going to inneract alot more due to the fact that they may actually can strike up a conversation about fishing with people closer to there area. I love the photos and all the topics but Me and boogie man arent gonna be doin any ice fishin this year! A social network is a powerful tool. The more tricks you have in the bag the better the show is gonna be. That tools gonna be like puttin the push pole down and slappin a 50thrust trollin motor on to get us around this super cool lake we call bigbluegill.

Tightn up BRUCE!
