Well? What do you think? Does it look like it would make a cool hat or sweatshirt? This was developed by the creator of Big Bluegill, Aaron Matos. He kind of stays behind the scenes, but he's always watching and monitoring us (spooky, isn't it?) so that we stay focused on big bluegill.
Big announcement! There's something huge in the works! :-)
B. Waldman has added the big black eartab and the logo is lookin' hot.
My idea is as follows:
I will announce what the actual wholesale cost is for the items. Then I will add 10%. This 10% would go to a big bluegill scholarship that could be presented for anybody who answers a series of questions (science related of course) that can be found on the website. Maybe we could have a savings bond that would go to kids under ten years old, and another one that goes to kids 11-15 years old. Anybody who answers the questions then has one full week to go out and catch a big bluegill and get it photographed with the angler and a "control item" which would be published on this site.
I have no idea how much money we'll generate, but maybe it would be enough at some point for two $50 bonds...maybe more. I guess that time will tell.
After a little time for commentary I'll start a blog in regards to the contest. I've seen NEFGA run a very tight contest this last summer using this basic format.
Another possibility would be for a couple of us to put together a couple of little prize packs. You know...maybe a couple of flies, or thill bobbers or something bluegill related to serve as extra prizes.
I'd take a hat and shirt!!! What about the magnetic car decals??

I came across the site while doing research (searching for studies) on big bluegill. Sort of linked into the NEFGA site at the same time after reading enough posts and seeing a few of you guys leveraging off both sites. Already knew about Pond Boss but hadn't really followed it much, though have referenced it a few times before.

Brian, I don't think you crossed any self-promotion lines. You simply answered a question that I had personally.
Thank you.
Really busy today, but I'd like to talk to you soon.
How did you find out about Big Bluegill?

Just another idea....Cafe Press. If you haven't seen it before, it is about as "hands-off" a setup as you could ask for. Simply design your shop and add your logos to whatever merchandise you want, and that's it! They do all the printing, mailing and $$ collecting. Best part is a single logo basic shop costs absolutely nothing out of pocket to setup and run. I've got a shop I run for our state smallmouth alliance group if you want to just browse to see examples of the merchandise, etc.
This is strictly for you to see what you can do with a shop. If it crosses any self-promotion lines or site policies please don't hesitate to remove the link from the post. If you'd like, I'd even be glad to temporarily put your decal on one of our items long enough for you to order something so you could check out the quality and product before deciding if you wanted to actually open your own shop.
If you have any questions about Cafe Press just fire me off an e-mail or PM and I'd be glad to try and answer them or help you out in any way I could.
