Do you love big bluegill?
Just want to post a thank you to Carl and David for sending me some of the flies they have made. The PINK does the job! Jeffrey Abney you are the man! Attached is a picture of 2 pink flies that I tried out today, one on the left from Carl and on the right from David. Both are slow sinking flies and that is what the bluegill, crappie and bass wanted today.
Would not touch a top water popper. Nothing big today due to all the rain we've had here in the Lowcountry of South Carolina. My wife got me a new fly rod for my birthday and just had to get out and try it today before it rains again! 2 small bass, 2 crappie and 4 or 5 bream - only one copperhead gill. Just a small pond and nothing is of really great size in it. Had fun though!!
Thanks again, Carl and David!!

Thanks Jim....look forward to your updates during the spring....I bet you have a big shellcracker or two in your future on these bugs.....the Coppernose will crush them too! Enjoy
Jeffery - did not tip the fly, just let it sink for a little bit and then stripped it back to me. Sometimes they would hit on the strip, sometimes on the sink. Next time I go, I will let the fly sink all the way to the bottom.

hahahahah your more than welcome jim!!! you must have been using tooty;s bugs to catch them
Thanks Jim and no surprise to me that you had success with these bugs.......you'll find that even when there is a top water bite, these slow falling bugs will draw some amazing strikes.......I always tip my bugs and jigs.....did you tip them today or just monitored the fall? I have experienced great success in the lakes and tidal waters of the low country.......don't know where you like to fish down there but it should be fun.....I've caught the big shellcrackers deep near bottom on pink jigs as well in Bushy Park and Goose Creek Reservoir....
