Bluegill - Big Bluegill

Do you love big bluegill?

I just wanted to show you guy's my Carp that I have caught in my 2yrs of fishing for them. Some of these Carp I waited for 5hrs from peck to set hook. Carp are nowhere near dumb like everyone think's this Fish are very smart they will shy away from a hook in a second. I don't have many Carp under my belt but I did do pretty good in just 2yrs. I have caught a total of 25 carp and missed 30, some picture's I'am not able to find. I was using a Bread dipped in honey I would take the end's off and use the whole inner piece but that's how I prefer doing it.

Angelo...we catch them on a variety of things, usually artificial or real flavored corn, artificial boilies or I have had great success with small pineapple chunks from the store that were dried and sweetened. I will have to take a photo and post it of our rigs...usually a hair-rig with a weight and feeder cage to hold ground bait. Our hooks are # 4, 6 or 8's...small, but specifically made for carp. Check out all the carp tackle sites on the web and you will be blown away with the technology that European carp anglers have developed.

I used to catch the hell out of them! I chummed with canned kernal corn then used a no 6 hook with a few kernals on it with no weight. I sometimes caught 5 or 6 in an afternoon. Smoked, they taste like ham!! Carp are mostly vetarian and corn really get's them going. If you know they are using an area just throw a handful in and follow with a cast!!! I've gotten them and buffalo up to 30 lbs!

Great Carp Jim, look's like the 2nd one she's full of egg's? I haven't had time to go carp fishing this year yet. I been Bass fishing alot and fly fishing. I been saying I'am going out but at the last moment I changed it up for some fly fishing. I love carp fishing in April when their spawning mostly. What do you use when carp fishing? How's your rig set up?

I am a fan of carp, and Angelo you have some great fish there! You are right about carp being a wary and spooky fish, at times very difficult to catch. John Cachel, member of this site, is an outstanding carp angler and has banked them up to 30 plus pounds.

I am kind of like you...I just started fishing for them last May and was lucky enough to get in with some good local carp anglers who showed me the ropes. Great fish! Here are a few from this year...

Good luck this year in carping!

I'am not a Yankee fan nor a baseball fan. My wife likes the Yankee's. I like their hats tho. I'am a New Jersey Devil fan and a Green Packer fan.
