Thanks a lot for your kind response. With my little kids, the close proximity to fishing spot is important to me. I have tried several local park ponds including Alondra park, but no success, and I was excited to see that your favorite lake is El Dorado Park. I do not really mind the kind of fish as long as my kids can catch something even 3 inch fish. I know DFG stock cats in the summer and trouts in the winter into El Dorado, have you had some success? I will try El Dorado soon as it is close from where we live also. Driving 1 - 2 hrs for fishing is no fun for the kids as you know. If you fish there after work, it seems that the lake and the park itself is pretty safe to be around at night time, too.
Hi James, sorry to take so long to reply. The bluegill have left the lake, lol. not getting even a nibble using meal worms or any worms so there is no secret spot at El Dorado lake. It has been hit and miss for me. I love going there cuz I live so close and can get about 2 hours of fishing in after work. I love watching the bobber move. The amazing thing is, somehow I miss the hook up and my worm is gone no matter how tiny a piece was on the hook. That is so baffling to me. good luck AJ
Fishing is on and off there for me and my fishing friend. Sometimes no hits and like last night she caught 7 and me zero. She used meal worms I switched around playing with swim baits and stuff trying to catch a bass
