Thanks Gary. The trout fishing is huge in my area. I live about 5 minutes from South Holston tailrace. Do quiet a bit of trout myself. The Gills in the photos are from South Holston also. Hard lake to fish, but I and my step-son manage a few.
Ponds are awsome. The 12" I got was a average of a trip once. Some bigger some smaller that day. Well feed hybrids are awsome. Those fish wore me out that day. I got to get back there!!
I see you live in Bristol. I've not had much exposure to your area for gills, just trout. Nice pics of the gills, looks like you scored some nice ones. I mainly fish either Norris Lake, Cove Lake, Big Ridge State Park or some local creeks near my house. I've caught several gills around the 12" mark from a couple ponds on a friends property, but he sold his farm and now I'm back to catching so so ones at the above lakes. I do fish a lot in north AL on the Elk River at my sis in laws place and I catch some real hogs there, but it's a 4 hr drive and we only get there a couple of times a year. Take care and rip some lips!!
Twelve inch gill? That's a giant...I haven't reached that milestone yet. Got rumor of a 12 1/2 incher caught and released at a local pond last week. Might have to target the critter.
