What type of animal is a bluegill?: No but I do keep and occasionally breed various fishes in aquarium including eight species of sunfishes.

At 8:18pm on February 23, 2009, Centrarchid said…: That fish is a rock bass (Ambloplites rupestris). I found it dead along with a couple smaller ones but was so impressed by it's size that I had to photograph it. It was the largest rock bass I've ever seen.
