It's pretty easy to weave using the simple overhand knot. I learned from a youtube video by Dirk Burton: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XDyGEmc5qBE once you learn the process you can adapt lots of your current patterns.  Another great tutorial is on flytyingforum.com by dryfly purist http://www.flytyingforum.com/index.php?showtopic=41283&hl=%2Bwe... very simple clear pictures. I use a bodkin as much as a crochet hook to manipulate the thread. These are cheap! embroidery floss from any craft/sewing store two colors at $0.37 is probably enough for 50 flies for less than a dollar.
