White Perch average size

Finally got my 1st White Perch and Bullheads of 2019 .Started off catching a small Bullhead on a worm baited #4 hook then missed a few fish as they were taking light under the float .Switched to a #6 hook and catch rate increased with several small Hen Gills another Bullhead and a Few White Perch .Then two Gills took a#6 hook down their throats and I lost two hooks .Went back to a #4 and caught a few more white Perch .55 air temp felt chilly . Best tecnique was slow reeling the float back to shore . Float was about 3.5' up from hook and shot.
