The beauty of this is that nobody can be proven right...or wrong! :-)

My first thought is that it's a straight BG X GSF hybrid. I have seen that particular coloration before.

Not doubting anybody else however. I wouldn't be slightly surprised if there were PS genetics in there.

Anybody else?

My guess is...part pumpkinseed due to the wavey blue lines on the lower cheeks. And the yellow pecs and larger gillflap makes me think green sunfish in there...I think Mods' right.

Looks like a purebred female Pumpkinseed (or immature male P-Seed) and it looks like Ice is around and cold water can mute the colors of fish making them appear more pale and washed out than in warm weather months when their colors are very vibrant!!!! Nice Catch!!! Way to go!!!!
