We see blue herons just about everywhere we go, even in my backyard, but all the local ponds and streams...they are everywhere in Maryland!

It does take some of the gloss off when they stab a huge spawning BG, then discover it's too big for them to devour, so they leave it and go after another one....

Its a dam and is spillling there on the left .Cool Blue Heron ! Saw  what I think was a Night Heron Juvenile ,as well as a mink .I was  fishing from 4-7 last evening  .

In my best locations I have several Great Blue herons so they correlate with fertile waters in my opinion.....I don't have a pond though....Pretty place....I take it water spills over from time to time....

A very good fisherman pictured here....Tony doesn't like them in his ponds.....
