Tinknocker -I'm a pitiful tier but I use a Blue Jay feather .They are plentiful in the yard where I live and drop them all the time .I take a feather and use the black /Blue sections for the back(Top) and use the white sections for the belly .Sometimes I'll tie them upside down as if the little fish I'm imitating is on its back and dieing . I only have tied these in  small sizes 64th,32nd ,24th .I prefer the black head Jigs with painted heads if I can find them .I use Red thread for the collar , sometimes black thread . Its a one feather Jig tie. Nothing fancy .Hope that helps.

Dick , you are right it's a  a Dragonfly Nymph , thanks for the correction? Those Crème imitations are incredibly realistic and catch tons of fish . I just sent for another catalog .Here's the request page .Unfortunately I don't see the DF Nymph offered anymore .    http://www.cremelure.com/catalog_request.cfm

The blue Jay caught  most of the 41 fish I got with these items .Blue Jay did great even untipped . Need to locate some 64th oz Jigheads ,especially black painted heads .  Yes Tinknocker these get assaulted and beat up by all panfish . Love the realistic colors on these Jigs Ledhed .Just need to make up a bunch more .
