 This is one of them things I still remember well, I was 12 years old. I had spent the weekend up at a buddies cabin fishing, needless to say I only caught one small sunfish. I was dropped off at home Sunday no one was home, but the carp were spawning. So I rigged my pole up to "catch" some carp. I walked down to the crick that's just up the lake, its only a few feet across perfect for schools of carp. Casting my thunderstick :) first pull I got one only this wasn't a carp, I had this 39'' Northern Pike take my lure. It put up a great fight jumping out of the water,walking the shoreline home wasn't an option carrying this fish, so I took the road. The thing I remember most was the short walk home thinking my Dads not home I want to show him this fish, and in that short time 10 cars stopped and complimented me on my catch, that was a great moment in my fishing journal.
