Foam cylinder spider
Just playing at the bench, I tied a few of these spiders using 3/16" foam cylinders. (size 12 hooks) Very easy to tie, but I have not fished them so I am not sure how they will work on the water.....Don in SC

OK, Ray, I will keep that in mind. I kept the body a little long so that the fly will be as buoyant as possible. When I get these out on the water, I will post a follow-up. Thanks for the comment...........Don in SC

Nice looking 'popper'. You may find that the foam tail interferes with hooking the hitters. Only time will tell. If you find you are having trouble hooking the fish just shorten the body so that it does not overhang the bend of the hook.
