I get it thanks .Fish while you sleep without having to tie the line to your toe . This video suggests you tie to a flexible limb so as to have some leeway with a big and strong fish like a whopper Catfish . The line may be rated at 60 lbs but my experience with them a fisty 20 lb or bigger cat will pull the guts and spring right out of them, lost a bunch of them like that one night. LOFR

According to the instructions, you can submerge them, like beneath a jug.
The spring and hardware is stainless.
I wouldn't be comfy doing it, but that's what it said.
And I plan to hang mine from branches using bailing wire.

It has a string you can tie on a limb but you may want to take a hammer and nails out with you to place a nail wher you can tie on the string ,just keep the spool out of the water. LOFR
