Bluegill - Big Bluegill

Do you love big bluegill?

These fish were piled in with active schools of crappie on shallow cover.........landed sixteen and lost several others......tough on the big fish with small baits and telescopic gear but fun trying......

Only caught a couple small Bass today.  Saw some bigger ones, but as usual, it was while I was paddling, and realized the fish was only a few feet away and spooked.  I did manage to get a cast off to what I thought was a small pod of decent-sized LMBs today, but as I didn't get a really clear look at them, and the way they spooked, the fish might have been Carp.

Thanks Allen......good luck and hope you snag a few soon, this size bass often fights harder than fish twice their size IMO......

Thanks Slip.........this is an early Fall predictable bite that provides alot of extra fun..........we joked that the tournament guys were going to get upset with us but obviously "live bait" probably accounted for some of our success........

Nice!  I've been seeing lots of similar-sized Bass in the lake I've been hitting lately.  Usually as I'm paddling, and I can't get a cast out to try and hook them.

I think the Fall feeding frenzy is about to bust loose!
