Thanks Mike....many folks don't like to be near sea level as we are in coastal North Carolina.....I love the flooded cypress that adorn this region and these environments allow big bluegill and many other species of freshwater fish to thrive so I really love it.......much of my fishing experience is enjoying the great outdoors and I like to share these places with the members here........

You know i'd have to admit Jeffery, the scenery over there is so much more beautiful than down here.....all we have are lots of mesquite and hackberry trees.")

The farthest north I have seen the spanish moss is in the Charleston, S.C. area....... I like it for all the insects like carpenter ants that drop in the water from overhanging moss......creates nice shade also.....

I wonder if the spanish moss is like the mangroves, only grows south of a certain parallel.  Maybe it's just not tolerant of the cold.

Yeah Mike, I'm from south Louisiana and my wife is from Orange Park, Florida originally. I wouldn't like it here in Carolina if I didn't have flooded cypress and brackish waters to fish......Notice the absence of Spanish moss though, all the swamps in Florida and Louisiana would be full of it as you well know Mike......
