Bluegill - Big Bluegill

Do you love big bluegill?

Check this out, I was on fishing trolling for Stripers and when it was my turn and a rod went off, a fellow buddy grabbed the rod to hand it over but accidently opened the spool causing a unbelievable back lash aka “Birds Nest”! Man I had to pull this fish by hand LOL! That was a first but wouldn’t be the last!

LOL Jim.  Getting this fish by hand was not something I signed up for it just happened twice!  The first time due to a killer birds nest, so I grab a pair of gloves and got to work.   It was like pulling a one of those marine batteries up hill LOL!  The second fish was a lot easier.  We weren't sure how long it had been hooked on the dummy line.  But when I pulled it in, she was done.  If you look at her close you can see she lost all her color.
