Bluegill - Big Bluegill

Do you love big bluegill?

The Gill Migration Has Begun On The Albemarle..5/01/2018

A traditional start to May for me.........look for gills staging on the marsh flats and inland coves......several places had surface temps over 70 degrees late today......took 43 on cricket tipped jigs fished a foot under a float........feeding heavily on grass shrimp and small minnows.......

Close Carl.......I'm a compact 6' 3" and 255............LOL.........it was a nice fish and it's exciting early season when you start seeing the mature coppers.............this guy plunged my float in a foot of water...........tight circles began immediately on hook set, a dead giveaway for a solid bluegill..........
