A View Into Early 2013 As Winter Grips the Nation.......

Bluegill fishing historically slows this time of the year as anglers wait for safe ice and longer days......here's a few awesome fish from one of my best days of 2013......

Thank you all......it's slow right now for new posts so I wanted to show a few nice ones that some of the newer folks may have not seen yet.........These pictures were snapped at the launch before releasing these quality fish......With a 30 fish limit in North Carolina, I can almost always catch a mess of good eating 8 to 9 inch class fish and give most of the larger fish a free pass.......I do have a couple sweet spots in the swamp that yield an average gill in the 10" class....I won a bluegill tourney in 2005 in the area these fish were caught.......late May and 30 Coppernose weighed just over 26.25 pounds.................It's a jewel of a bluegill spot and public......it's remains a mystery to me why folks don't fish it much but I'm good with it.........
