Bluegill - Big Bluegill

Do you love big bluegill?

12 in crappie and what I have been told is a stumpknocker. Caught a few of them, most much smaller, all looked like miniaturized bull bluegills.

Jim Gronaw had a picture of what he called a flier that looked a lot different. He posted it in the blog, Boogieman and the Seven Sunfish. Clint Johnson, who lives near where I caught this fish called it a stumpknocker. I caught a lot about half the size but with the look of a full grown bull bluegill. Bruce Condello thinks it is a bluegill, but it does look different after being on ice than it did when i caught it.

Stumpknocker? Is that what some people call a Flier?

Anybody else think Bruce's comment about the bull gill shows he is in denial. Pay attention to the technique Bruce. That ain't a bluegill anyway. It is a stumpknocker.

If you are going to use currency for perspective, get a good perspective Daddy said.

I can assure you...I will never be able to measure fish the way the Boogieman does!

That's a pretty sizable black crappie. That sure looks like a bull bluegill to me. Hmmmm. More research needed!
