I think this fish is #3 on the leaderboard because it attaches itself to every other fish picture I send to bbg. I don't know why, it is an old picture (2 days old)

Sharon, that is a warmouth, a member of the sunfish family. They are good to eat with more meat than same length BG due to width. They don't grow as big as a bluegill can, but can get between 2 and 3 pounds I think. They fight good and are usually found around logs, stumps and brush piles.

The creek comes out of a 400 acre lake on the other side of the street. The fish can go back to a 30' wide "fishing hole"on that side of the street, but they can't get back in the lake as the overflow pipe is 10' above the water level. Well, maybe salmon can make it. So, "my" fish can't get away hopefully.

How far does the creek go upstream and is there a body of water that way? Fish tend to swim upstream so if there is somewhere to go when it floods they will head they way and get traped in water upstream.

ALL the blobs are gone, so I guess they were bullfrog tadpoles. My creek can flood, but we have a dam fixed so that the fish would have to try and swim out through a net, then a culvert which is offset from the water flow. Trying my best to keep the fish in the creek as last winter there didn't seem to be any. Don't know if they died when the creek got low in the summer, but probably as below the dam it's about 6" deep at best.

well if you have all the BG and GSF you are talking about the Bass will be eating them as they see fit and are probably fat at that.

The creek could flood I guess and they may leave, your pond should be fine unless it overflows.

Have you seen any more blobs of catfish or hooked any more Bullheads?

A hook, I thought I had caught another nasty catfish so I was happy it was something else. It's the only one I have ever caught in the creek which seems to be stocked with catfish, bluegill, green sunfish only. Although I put in 50 bass myself in the creek, and 25 in the pond I have never seen them again except for 1 bass from my pond which got caught by the eyelid. I guess it was snooping around too much?

I think so, depends if you like BG or LMB.

Plus if you can get them to a decent size they are fun to catch as well.

Do you trap that one or catch on a hook?
