Yes I have and use those (Blade between two swivels)and see them as a version of what for some reason I call a 'flicker ' I'll put up a pic of the variety I have another time . The Red breasted Sunfish pic I posted has that very lure you call 1/2 a Colorado spinner , in it's mouth.

I haven't fished them. They are what I'd call "half of a Colorado Spinner." THOSE I have fished plenty.
A Colorado spinner is, in this sequence:
Swivel
Split ring
Blade, mounted on split ring
Swivel, attached to split ring
Another split ring, attached to second swivel
Hook attached to rear split ring

In other words, a blade between two swivels with a trailing hook. Looks like this -

Another classic trout spinner I remember from my youth. And as you can see, the full complement to your Hildy "half Colorado," Flicker.

PS I like the rubber stops for your spinner rigs.
I really like those little "footballs," having first tried them last year. Obviously versatile, they are close to the perfect stopper. Their one drawback in my eyes is they are a tad too bulky.
But that's me.

You nailed it. The classic, traditional spin-fly is the Hildebrandt style. I call them by their old name, "Idaho Spinners." They are clasped allowing for interchangeable terminal tackle.
Their downside, if you call it that, is their lack of weight. They were created to add flash to FLY PRESENTATIONS. As you know, they are light - possibly too light for effective spin casting unless paired with long, slow rods and light lines.
The others spinners you show are, as I like to say, pretenders to the throne. In my book, it's all about the 'Hildy."

CORRECTION: Earlier I stated   this ;Joe's fly ,"3.5 blade spinner ,that comes as is. Also the old #0 Hildebrandt came as is ." In fact the Joe's fly in question was interchangeable but I have another that isn't so I did the 'Hutton Trick' and put a duo lock and added an old treble fly . It also turns out that the #0 'Hildy' is interchangeable as well as this old 'SPIN-E -MINI-' So now it stands that all are interchangeable of the ones I have but I had to modify one Joe's fly to make it so . The 'spin fly ' in fact should  have as it's  main feature ,the interchangeability I would think .

i know you've shown the pic of your stoppered spinners, but could you post it again?

Back when I raised chickens, I would cut bologna into worm strips. They would go berserk for the things, which got me to thinking about trying them for fishing. If you cut them in an arc, with the round shape of the slice, they wiggle nice in the water, just like a curly tail grub.

Ha ha never did make bologna worms ,yes why not hot dogs with pennant tails .

Slow retrieve rig is how I see this home made spinner rig, that's what's been working recently but every water is different I guess . An important component has become the two Eagle Claw float stops to save the rig if the hook breaks off in a snag or inside the fish's mouth .Also you can slide the spinner around to different lengths from the hook . I read in an old book ,that any bait becomes better with a spinner added and I'm  beginning to see the truth in that statement . I'll be searching through my fishing books today to find the book, author and quote .
