That's right there is funny Tony!......I don't care who you are.........I catch on pretty quick when I go to Rome.....I'm a fast learner and adapt quickly........The line usually isn't going to fail me here....I had a jig pull apart yesterday on a much larger bass that I got to see but not touch...........And Allen......I catch dozens of big Channel Catfish during the summer using this method......I've broken some big telescopics right in half too on giant cats........I'll pull up a couple pics...........

I had to laugh at myself when I saw this pic. A normal person would probably see a happy angler holding a nice bass, but what stands out to me is how skinny the bass is, especially when compared to how thick Jeffrey's line is....what a contrast!

I laughed again when I thought about what would happen if I were there fishing with him, using my gear. Probably a lot of break-offs on 4 lb. test! Then, in reverse, if he were here fishing with me....he would think there were no fish in my ponds! I can visualize a big hybrid gill sticking it's head out of the water, and chastising Jeffrey:  "Dude, seriously! We can see your line down here....not gonna' happen!"

Jeff, do you ever catch catfish with this technique?

I only ask, as a few years ago, I would go to my favorite tailrace to fish, and a gent would be there with a telescopic pole, dapping minnows for Crappie along the rip-rap bank.  About once an hour, he would hook into something HUGE.  The first time, he broke off without ever seeing the fish.  He mumbled something about "dang Flathead catfish..."  I wasn't sure I believed him, until about an hour later, I saw him pull in about a 10 lbs Channel Cat that almost broke his pole.......

Indeed they do Mike......I routinely catch bass annually up to eight pounds with these techniques and believe I have lost bigger fish but adrenaline can steer you that way while in the heat of battle......Crabmeat is like bacon....it makes everything taste better so why not use both in your recipe so I do......I'll keep a few post spawn when the Blue Crabs begin running so I can prepare my dish with all fresh products......

It's still fun to play tug of war with a head shaker from time to time.......I'll be in contact with the big females for the next month as we have chaos in the Albemarle shallows right now .........
