Bluegill - Big Bluegill

Do you love big bluegill?

Easy touch Cabelas 7 ft rod reduced by about 3 1/2 inces due to broken tip.Still catches fish though.Pflueger President reel ..4 lb. test..two bb shots..1/32nd oz trout magnet.Fish took several colors...Many fish were swimming away to be caught before bobber stood up.That's less than 2 seconds the way I was fishing today.

I am slowly ,since 2009, catching on to what you and Johnny Wilkins have understood for a long time I suspect.

John, I believe that you and I share a passion for slip floating....I believe that it is one of the best, year-round techniques for catching BG, and a near necessity for open water, winter fish.

Good info, I enjoy seeing what other anglers are using for their floats....my next incarnation of homemade slip floats is about to begin testing, this generation was designed particularly for the cold water environment and fishing style that I use this time of year.

The  Goldeneye Foam Slip Float that started it for me .Has a glass rod through it, I had to glue back in once .Caught many Crappie! I now use it on an 8' rod .This  float is discontinued but I keep my eye out for floats I think are similar .I want to retire it before I lose it as it has the benefit of memories.
