Do you love big bluegill?

No, the pond feeds into the creek, although last summer the pond level got so low, we had to pump water from the creek to the pond. This problem started way before that, however.
There really aren't that many, I have caught 2 in the last month. Never seem them feeding with the bluegill anymore. The bass do.
Sharon, do you have any moving water, (creeks, streams) that feed into your pond? Or is there another BOW that could flood during a high water event and discharge fish down into yours?
On the other hand Walt, I DIDN'T stock them here, and there they are.
The two top right fish are definitely longear. They're in all the creeks and rivers around here. I tried years ago stocking a few into a pond but never saw them again. It will be interesting to see how big they can get on high-protein food!
Thanks Tony and Sharon . Bucket list for me.
John, if I were targeting them my first choice would probably be a creek or stream. At least that's where I see them the most. Although thanks to Sharon, we know they can survive in a pond also!
Beautiful Fish !! Thanks Tony ! I just read they are distributed West of the Appalachian mts. I may be able to locate these somewhere not too far from me .Well maybe.
Wow!
Take a look at these.... some of them are displaying their spawning colors.... they are quite striking.
