Bluegill - Big Bluegill

Do you love big bluegill?

I love watching that quill jump from a fish strike and then slide down slowly and disappear in the tannic waters.....

I can't argue with your observation Chris.....I need to find some of the longer ones for minnow fishing.......trust me when I tell you John....great cold water approach......you can detect a fish swimming by......best strike indicator I have ever fished and I traditionally fish a micro float that will barely suspend my offering......but with age goes one's eyesight and the quill provides the same detection with better visibility for the angler.......

that's gotta be just the ticket for cold water fish .Thin profile and hardly any resistance for sluggish light biters! Way to go Jeffrey!

Best bobbers ever, I also used the 10-12 inch ones for the minnows, works really well.

I love em' Andy.....consider some longer ones for minnows as LOFR suggested ........warm water fish take them down like an arrow......no resistance at all....I tune mine with micro split shot so they sit straight up and down...

I think im goin to start using these alot i prefer a long pencil style bobber over a round for crappies cuz of the little resistance these would be great!!!

A better shot of the quill float tuned for today's action.....

They just disappear beneath the surface. I like quills.

Good point/recommendation LOFR.....

It's easier to see fish strike  vs minnow activity with a bigger quill, a fisty minnow will make you think you have a fish on the line at all times, I use 10 - 12  inch quills when using minnows.   LOFR
