Bluegill - Big Bluegill

Do you love big bluegill?

It's great to take advantage of many urban areas as big bluegill are drawn in to man made structures and that's no different in our local rivers in Northeast N.C., but the true experience is to get out and fish some flooded cover and tangle with some big bruiser Coppernose that call this region home.......

You cannot go wrong fishing a place called "Dismal Swamp." I mean, even if you only do passably, the name alone will impress.

"We caught a few, that's it... but it was the Dismal Swamp, you know..."

Say that and people nod knowingly, then look like at you like you are Indiana Jones

(My usual remark goes like this: "Oh, I didn't catch a thing today at Lake Murray."

Yeah; I got nuttin'. LOL)

The upper Pasquotank River will reward a Bluegill angler's effort in both quality and numbers..........Miles and miles of similar shore line provide a challenge but also help maintain a wonderful fishery.....Tidal black waters are often overlooked and many folks are really missing out on quality Sunfish opportunities......
