As far as peeling back the tails on  CFish  ,yes that is what I found works killer on Brown Trout ! The Hellgrammite suggestion is funny ,useful and I will try to file that away in my mind .I've never used live helgis before .Thanks much Steve , love old river rat advice!

John....softshells are killer when you find them.....don't know when to tell you to look. An old river rat told me that if you peel a section or two off of a regular tail, it worked a lot better.  Also told me that to pick up hellgramite out of a bucket...pick up at least 3...they are so busy biting each other they don't pay attention to you...it works.

Already have Carl . I lost that Burke Hellgrammite in a tree branch on a back cast .Ahh! Its a little tight at my smallie hole but maybe I can attack from a different angle next time .
