Greg.....No doubt everyone has their "favorites" and has fine tuned their choices may it be flies, foam spiders(used em years ago) and in my case...the poppers.....All equally as good no doubt....I guess I just love to see the bluegills "smack " the floating poppers is all.....plus I buy em fairly inexpensively at the local stores...usually "Betts"....I must have a surplus in my tackle box for the next 20 years!...lol!

I've never used a popper for gills and I'll bet I'm missing out on something here...

I'll give them a try John!......I think I saw a couple black foam spiders mixed in with my poppers somewhere.....Will try em this weekend!

Lol!...It's an old small piece of kitchen cabinet (about 2'x2') that I throw in the canoe for a "mini table top" for the rods, glasses, bait, hooks, camera, etc.....Makes it alot easier then digging around the bottom of the wet canoe looking for split shot, tiny hooks and whatever..... Sit's nicely on top of my giganto Plano tackle box....Plus good for cleaning fish on the spot.....Hmmmm,maybe those holes will hold "Gulp" maggies!...lol!

You can store one nightcrawler in each hole...

OK, I've got to know why those holes are drilled in the wood.
