Bluegill - Big Bluegill

Do you love big bluegill?

Does anyone collect old lure catalogs? Are they worth anything? I've got several catalogs from the 1960s and 70s. If nothing else, the sure are entertaining to look at!

@Jeff - that FF issue with the rainbow trout on the cover is one of the ones I used to have!

@Vince - Lunkers Love Nightcrawlers turns up on eBay from time to time. I still have my copy but haven't opened it in years. I think I should :)  A number of both the early and updated (late 1980s) editions are also on Amazon.

I believe it, Jeff!  Those paintings were something else.

Jeff, nice photos and memories for us who grew up in the sixties.......

The good old Fishing Facts magazine!  Artist Wiley Miller painted the great covers.  I recently saw one of his original paintings on Ebay going for $3,000!

I wouldn't take money for my old Fishing Facts issues.  I loved that magazine - learned a good percentage of what I know about fishing from it.  They also had beautiful cover illustrations - I loved those paintings of fish they used (many of them were big bluegill).  I think they had a wildlife painter do them special for the magazine.

I use to own a cope of Lunkers Love Nightcrawlers. I learned a lot about light line, and small hook fishing from that book. I wish I still had it.

Is anyone here familiar with a magazine that came out of Kentucky called Panfisherman? This would have been published in the late 80's.

Walt, I used to have tons of old Fishing Facts mags from the 70s, but had to get rid of them when making an international move and had to lighten up my load a lot. Regret not storing them with my parents now :(

I have a few or several dozen old fishing magazines, everything from Fishing Facts to Field and Stream to Outdoor Life to a defunct mag out of Kentucky called Fishing Line to Tennessee Sportsman, from the '70's through early '90's.  They're stored in plastic bags in a closet so hopefully they're still in good shape - they were when they were put away.
