Thanks Carl....the biggest advantage I have on the Albemarle Sound is the number of locations that hold quality fish. I have put the years in to locate the gills and I just rotate around on these locations even skipping spots for entire seasons in an effort to preserve whats near and dear to my heart...catching big bluegill......I eat alot of Bluegill dinners but selective harvest in these areas has helped to preserve these fisheries in my opinion.

What's the latest winter storm going to do to you guys Vince? Another 2 to 3 inches of rain for coastal Carolina....

Hopefully the rains now will help us avoid drought later Vince.....one of the great things about brackish waters is the consistent water levels, as they are indirectly supported by our oceans, gulfs anf bays.....The 10 day forecast is already looking better and springing ahead the evening of March 9th is a milestone......Good luck down in Georgia!

It was 60 here today, but a big front is headed this way for the weekend. They are calling for lows in the 30's and highs only in the mid to upper 40's. It has been one front after another with rain in between all month long.

Thanks Vince.....a deadly bluegill bait for sure is the Gronaw Grass Shrimp......I've been reminiscing for several days as I gear up for the beginning of another great Bluegill season.......Weather although not fridgid here in coastal Carolina, has been challenging the entire month of February but not many Bluegill records are set this time of year in Carolina anyway.......It made it up into the mid 60s today but winds of 25 to 30 were just brutal so I chose to see what the upcoming weekend holds......

The Pink/Gold Gronaw Grass Shrimp tipped with a live grass shrimp was more than this wise old gill could stand.....Hope to see many of these larger fish this year for a measurement and a weigh in!......I'm looking for the Biggest Gainer!
